Factions "All-skill" trainer in non-contested territory.
Ok. Unwaking Waters and Zos Shivros have been Luxon controlled every time I've looked for the past month or so. Not surprising given the state of AB.
So how about putting another skill trainer in Imperial Sanctum outpost or something so that we kurzicks who might be saving up our faction points don't have to squander it just to buy basic skills? Call it the next step in untangling PvE from PvP.

The kurz elite armor guy needs to be in a neutral place as well. Until AB is fixed or SF is nerfed enough that speed clears aren't possible, there's really no need for the kurz side to play AB.

No dice. If a tome works, it means the skill is already unlocked and thus available in KC. That's the thing. I'm trying for UAS (at least for Ranger skills ATM) and I really, REALLY hate PvP so balth faction is out. It's those last few skills only available from those two outposts that are eluding me.

all u have to do is donate ur kurz faction till the amount u have is low, go earn slightly more luxon faction, buy the skills u want, go back on ur merry way to earning kurz faction. or AB ur ass off until kurz push luxon back? pfft. cap sigs and go cap normal skills of bosses? a skill trainer wont be put in because of kurzick inability to AB :P

The border only affects merchants and skill trainer. The armor crafters will still talk to you if you have more unspent Kurz faction than luxon.

Hush. Sardelac rules dictate that every thread must contain at least 10% anti-SF posts, even if completely off-topic.

AB is a pointless pastime. even non-SC Vanquishing has a higher return/time ratio, and that's before you take into account the 20-cycle-or-more downtime between matches. No wonder they don't like to AB.
There is a precedent for making changes that stop the screwed up state of PvP from gimping PvE (remember the old Favor?)
Another, probably much easier, option would be to make the skill sellers ignore the border like the aforementioned armorers.

So if i now make an anti-sf post, this thread would have to carry on to 20 posts for it to be 10% Anti-SF, right?
SF needs to be nerfed.

So the fundamental problem here is that not enough people play AB, and your solution is to remove one more reason to play AB? Interesting, but no thanks.

There are very few skills that can't be learned from another Skill Trainer. Just add the skills that are only available in Zos Shivros/Harvest to the trainer in Altruum Ruins or Saint Anjekas.

Just add a skill trainer in one of the last two outposts who offers all skills, I agree. Just like the one in Ember Light Camp in prophecies. Should be a very simple solution.

It is very annoying I will admit it. The armor for sure. Some people play the same times all week PVE and PVP and if you have a horse crap AB team losing and a good opposing team that play regularly you are going to wait awhile for that nice armor. Just add the bribe feature like the priest has outside. This way you can access what you want when you want. 100 gold 50 gold whatever

Zaishen Challenge. Easily-beaten AI and you get Balthazar faction. You could also do ZQ, which is basically PvE since the luxons are all either bots or luxons (read: worse than bots).

Ironically it's easier to simply -unlock- the desired skill with 1000 Balthazar faction...
easily earned in 1 or 2 matches of AB (win or lose)
Jade Quarry is another place to earn some quick Balthazar faction
Then buy your skill from ANY skill trainer anywhere in factions (e.g. KC)

But should a person have to PVP to be able to learn a skill? Granted it is not hard to do but should you really have to do it?

honestly there is no need for all this, do it like we've done it for years, or as mentioned above - Get a lil bit more faction of the needed type and buy your skill. its not hard to get a few luxon or kurzick(especialy after donating) you only need 1pt higher then the other to buy when the opposite side controls.
Its how Factions was ment. if you cant do it, then try getting balth using the fast faction farm in elite ziashen.

Faction was "ment" to be a lot of things that a) didn't pan out in the long run and/or b) are no longer relevant now that it's old and done.
As for the person who said that fixing this design issue "takes away a reason for ABing", let's not be fatuous, shall we? No one is going to play AB enough to push the border back. Hell, no one plays AB as it is. That's the problem.
The solution is not to try to force people back into the dead format, it's to take one of many easily-enacted steps to remove the dead format's impact on people who, by definition, don't care about it in the first place (PvErs).
